Mario Colosimo has been providing piano and guitar accompaniment to Cape Breton musicians for over 35 years. Mario owns and operates a private music studio in his hometown of Dominion where he teaches piano, guitar, fiddle and accompaniment. Although classically trained he plays all styles of music, but in the last 15 years has been involved with the Celtic scene in Cape Breton, playing with many of the best fiddlers on the Island and some international ones as well. He has recorded CDs with Paul Cranford, Allie Bennett, Lawrence Martell and, in 2017, recorded a couple of tracks with noted harmonica player from Scotland Donald Black. Mario has also collaborated with book publisher Paul Cranford on several music books, including Celtic Colours’ 15th anniversary collection, and been involved with many visiting international students at CBU over the last 10 years, recording with some of them.
