Since meeting in Glasgow some fifteen years ago, Finlay MacDonald and Chris Stout have been making dynamic and exciting music which has taken them on many adventures throughout the world. They are keen collaborators who share a passion for intense, expressive playing which shows in their virtuosic performances and great musical and cultural camaraderie. Chris Stout is one of the most dynamic and charismatic fiddle players in the country. Although firmly rooted in the music of his native Shetland, Chris’ music is widely recognized as being truly global. He has performed at the highest level with musicians from the world of Folk, Jazz, Pop and World Music while also performing with Symphony Orchestras from Scotland, Canada, Norway, Singapore and Australia. Finlay MacDonald has blazed a trail as one of the country’s finest exponents of contemporary and traditional Piping. He has worked with many leading artists in the traditional music scene including Fred Morrison, The Unusual Suspects, La Banda Europa, Old Blind Dogs and, of course, Chris Stout. In the contemporary music scene Finlay has piped alongside huge stars such as Bryan Adams and P. Diddy.
