Fèisean nan Gàidheal is pleased to introduce six young Gaelic singers from across Scotland who are part of the latest Fuaran Project. Established in 2014, Fuaran gives young Gaelic singers aged 16-25 training and support to allow them to develop skills in researching and collecting Gaelic songs from their own communities through interviews with local tradition bearers and accessing archive collections. The songs are then recorded anew by the young singers for an online digital resource. With funding from Bòrd na Gàidhlig, Fèisean nan Gàidheal is delighted to be working with further participants of the Fuaran project. Fuaran will feature a largely acoustic showcase of Gaelic songs from communities across the Highlands and Islands including Barra, Tiree and Sutherland, and will be performed by Alix Aburn, Chloe Bryce, Anna MacDonald, Duncan MacLeod, Claire Francis MacNeill and Catriona Nicolson.
