Janelle Boudreau is from the Acadian community of Isle Madame, located on the southern coast of Cape Breton Island. She started step dancing at the age of 5 and started playing the fiddle at the age of 12. Janelle has performed at local festivals and concerts, usually with her dad on guitar and her sister on the bodhran. She has also played and danced in the NWT, California, Scotland, and France. Along with being part of a dance troupe for more than ten years, she has taught step dance with the Antigonish Creative Dance Association and has competed on numerous occasions at the InStep with Cape Breton Dance Festival. This is Janelle’s first time performing as a solo artist at Celtic Colours.
