This afternoon’s matinee features tunes from the traditional repertoires of Cape Breton, Scotland, Ireland, Shetland, and Scandinavia. Gillian Head is a fiddler whose sound exemplifies the spirit and drive of traditional Cape Breton music. Jason Roach plays piano with unparalleled intensity and a style all his own. Gillian and Jason will share tunes duty with BBC Radio Scotland’s Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2023, Amy Laurenson and a genuinely unique voice in contemporary Scottish Trad music, guitarist Miguel Girão. Award-winning Cape Breton singer-songwriter Jordan Musycsyn is a masterful storyteller who writes folky songs about life and love with pathos and humour. Jordan is joined by Em Dingwall on bass and harmony vocals.
