Two of Prince Edward Island’s most well-known traditional groups experienced staggering losses in 2022: Vishtèn, with the loss of Pastelle LeBlanc, twin sister of Emmanuelle LeBlanc and wife of Pascal Miousse, who together made up the treasured Juno Award nominated Acadian trio; and The East Pointers, with the loss of Koady Chaisson, cousin to Tim Chaisson and dear friend to Jake Charron, who together made up the powerhouse Juno Award winning PEI traditional trio. The members of both of these groups have known and performed alongside each other for years, so in many ways it was perfectly fitting that months after their heart-wrenching losses occurred, Emmanuelle LeBlanc, Pascal Miousse, Jake Charron and Tim Chaisson came together to hang-out and play some music with each other, resulting in a dazzling fusion of Acadian fiddle, whistle, percussion and singing combining with eastern PEI trad fiddle, guitar, piano, and vocals, merging as a unique and captivating blend of East Coast contemporary traditional music. What turned out to be a truly beautiful and healing experience of emotional communion through music happened to lead to a one-time show in June 2022. Four hearts converging in mesmerizing contemporary traditional music, strengthened by the two hearts that remain with them in spirit.

Deux des groupes traditionnels les plus renommés de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard de tous les temps ont subi deux énormes pertes en 2022 : Vishtèn, avec la perte de Pastelle LeBlanc, sœur jumelle d’Emmanuelle LeBlanc et épouse de Pascal Miousse, qui formaient ensemble l’incroyable trio acadien chéri et nommé aux Juno Awards ; et The East Pointers, avec la perte de Koady Chaisson, cousin de Tim Chaisson et ami cher de Jake Charron, qui formaient ensemble le puissant trio traditionnel de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard lauréat d’un Juno Awards. Les membres de ces deux groupes se connaissent et jouent ensemble depuis des années, donc d’une certaine manière, c’est naturel que, des mois après la perte de leurs êtres chers, Emmanuelle LeBlanc, Pascal Miousse, Jake Charron et Tim Chaisson se retrouve pour passer du temps ensemble et jouer de la musique. Ce qui s’est avéré être une magnifique expérience de guérison et de communion émotionnelle par la musique a conduit à un spectacle unique en juin 2022.
