Enjoy the Island’s rich fiddling tradition this afternoon with the Cape Breton Fiddlers’ Association at their homebase, The Gaelic College in St. Ann’s. This Association, made up of amateur as well as professional and well-known players and composers, has been dedicated to preserving and promoting traditional Cape Breton fiddle music since the early 1970s. The Cape Breton Fiddlers’ Association has been the grass roots of the fiddle tradition and the keepers of the Island’s fiddle repertoire, presenting an annual Festival of Cape Breton fiddling, hosting workshops, and providing opportunities for its members to learn new tunes and techniques. Cape Breton fiddle music is alive and flourishing both on the Island and throughout the world, and the Cape Breton Fiddlers’ Association has played a significant role in this resurgence. This afternoon’s concert will showcase various members of the Fiddlers’ Association and a variety of styles and repertoire. Nearby Meal: North Shore Crab Dinner
