Skye River Trail invites guests to experience Mi’kmaq songs, dance, poetry, storytelling, and cultural interpretation along the beautiful Skye River.

The event will feature the White Bear Drum Group, a Mi’kmaq youth drum group invited by Skye River Trail to share traditional songs. During the presentation, Skye River Trail Heritage Interpreters will invite and guide guests in a Friendship Dance, creating an opportunity for visitors to participate and connect through song and movement.

Guests will also be guided to meaningful cultural monuments along the trail, including the Every Child Matters Monument and the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) sculpture. Heritage Interpreters will share cultural knowledge and reflections, including a special poetry presentation connected to the monuments and the stories they represent.

This experience celebrates Mi’kmaq culture, youth, language, remembrance, and connection to the land while bringing people together in friendship along the river.

$25 per person, with children 12 and under admitted free
