The Gilberts

Award-winning sibling trio The Gilberts deliver emotionally-impactful songs, arrangements, recordings, and performances infused with choral, Celtic, and country influences. Frieden, Reuben, and Maisie—who emigrated to Canada from the UK as young children—are having a banner year with a Canadian Folk Music Award win, the release of their second album, opening for Jimmy Rankin at the Halifax Convention Centre, and their second featured spot on a CTV television special set for December. Now they are delighted to make their Cape Breton debut at Celtic Colours following a busy summer of performances for Goderich Celtic Roots Festival, Deep Roots Summer Concert Series, Full Circle Festival, the Halifax Urban Folk Festival (HUFF), the Stage at St. Andrew’s in Halifax, and at the Osprey Arts Centre. Their debut album, The Gilberts: One, garnered the Young Performers of the Year award at the 2021 CFMAs. Their follow-up, Tell Me, was released in early 2021. Singles and tracks from both albums have received radio play on CBC, across the United States, and on a host of radio stations.
