Heather Cameron & Kenny Stewart

Nova Scotia

Heather Cameron and Kenny Stewart have been performing together for the past eight years.  A few of the highlights have been at the deCoste Performing Arts Center in Pictou, where they performed in front of a packed house for Heather’s CD release, Neverland, and later, for a Tribute to Don Messer.  Most recently they performed in Celtic Soul, a concert featuring traditional and spiritual music. Raised in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Heather was brought up surrounded by music. The fiddle, guitar, bagpipes, and piano soon became her constant companions, and early on she developed her beautiful, soulful voice. Heather knew well the power of music to reach people, which led her to study music therapy. This brought her out west, where she further developed her playing and entered the challenging world of Scottish Country Dance, where she excelled as a fiddler. Kenny has been playing guitar from an early age with his heart always in the traditional vein. He has played at dances and concerts all over Cape Breton and Eastern Nova Scotia with the likes of Buddy MacMaster, Natalie MacMaster, John Pellerin, Rodney MacDonald, and the late Jerry Holland and Arthur Muise to name a few.
