Jenny MacKenzie

Jenny MacKenzie is an international touring dance artist, choreographer, and director based in Cape Breton. Her work is deeply rooted in Gaelic traditions. She is co-producer of East Coast Celtic and A Timeless Art, and the producer, writer, and director of the multi award-winning Gaelic film Slighe Agnais. She has performed and presented her work across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe either as a solo artist, with her husband Kenneth, or as part of acclaimed productions such as DRUM!, Change of Step, Fileanta, and most recently, Diamh. She is currently a cultural advisor and choreographic contributor to the production ESPE (Scotland). In addition to her creative work, Jenny is an educator and mentor, sharing her expertise of Cape Breton step dance internationally, fiercely honouring its roots. Jenny worked with Rose Morrison this year as choreographer for the special concert, Holding Sand, which she will also be dancing in.
