Born and raised on Cape Breton Island, Kim Dunn has been working on a successful music career for more than 30 years now, with a brief four-year reprieve studying Jazz at St. Francis Xavier University. In addition to producing, musical directing, and arranging credits, he has worked extensively with Heather Rankin, Matt Andersen, Laura Smith, and Bruce Guthro among many other top names in the East Coast music industry. After playing on countless CDs of other artists, Kim released his first solo album, Take This Hammer, in 2009, following that up with Inspiration in 2016. He has performed his music with Symphony Nova Scotia and been featured regionally and nationally on CBC Radio. Kim has traveled and performed in the United States, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, and has toured extensively throughout Canada. Kim has performed at Celtic Colours on his own and as part of Heather Rankin’s band. He considers the Festival one of his favourites and is always thrilled to return. This year Kim will be on stage as part of a special concert revisiting J.P. Cormier’s beloved 1997 album, Another Morning.
