Shamus Y. MacDonald is passionate about the language, stories, and history of Gaelic Nova Scotia. After several years living and working in northern Canada, he returned to the East Coast to complete a PhD in Folklore at Memorial University. He now works as Manager of Culture and Language at Baile nan Gàidheal [Highland Village Museum], where he oversees Gaelic programming and supports the work of the L’nu Advisory Group. His roots run deep on both sides of the Barra Strait.
