Award-winning sibling trio The Gilberts deliver emotionally-impactful songs, arrangements, recordings, and performances infused with choral, Celtic, and country influences. Frieden, Reuben and Maisie emigrated to Canada from the UK when they were knee-high to a grasshopper and were soon hopping through muddy festival grounds and up onto the stage for open mics. They quickly became known for their soaring three-part harmonies and over the years evolved into multi-instrumentalists. Recent years have seen The Gilberts as featured artists at festivals including Lunenburg Folk Harbour, Deep Roots, Full Circle, Celtic Colours, and the Halifax Urban Folk Festival as well as virtual performances for Goderich Celtic Roots Festi-val, and as selected artists for the Canadian Folk Music Awards’ showcase at the 2021 Philadelphia Folk Festival. Their debut album The Gilberts: One garnered the Young Performers of the Year award at the 2021 Canadian Folk Music Awards. The follow-up, Tell Me, was nominated for a 2022 Canadian Folk Music Award, and won Music Nova Scotia and East Coast Music Awards in 2021 and 2022. The trio was a big hit at Celtic Colours in 2021 and we’re excited for their return this year.
