Waycobah First Nation invites guests to experience Mi’kmaq songs, dance, poetry, storytelling, and cultural interpretation at this afternoon event.
The White Bear Drum Group, a Mi’kmaq youth drum group, will share traditional songs while Heritage Interpreters will share cultural knowledge and reflections, including a special poetry presentation honouring community monuments and the stories they represent. Interpreters will also invite and guide guests in a Friendship Dance, creating an opportunity for visitors to participate and connect through song and movement. This experience celebrates Mi’kmaq culture, youth, language, remembrance, and connection to the land while bringing people together in friendship.
