Celtic Cabaret

Welcome To Celtic Colours Live Chat

It’s Canadian Thanksgiving and that means the long-awaited long weekend is here, and Cape Breton Island’s transformation into its stunning autumnal state has begun. A refreshing crispness fills the air as the leaves start to change from green to vivid hues of yellow, orange, and red, and friends and family gather to share gratitude and thanks. What better way is there to celebrate the occasion than by having a night out for some Celtic music, dancing, and maybe a drink or two among friends? One of the Festival’s few licensed concerts, the Celtic Cabaret at Membertou Trade and Convention Centre has become an opening weekend, Saturday night tradition during Celtic Colours over the years. Tonight’s concert showcases the high energy of award-winning Scottish Highlands and Islands group Blazin’ Fiddles, the melodic singing and playing of Lisa Cameron and Vern MacDougall, and the eclectic group Allan MacDonald: We’re a Case the Bunch of Us, featuring celebrated Scottish piper, composer, and Gaelic singer Allan MacDonald in collaboration with Finlay MacDonald, Iain MacFarlane, Ali Hutton, and Leonard Barry. It’s a time to be thankful and this concert gives us lots to be thankful for.
