Award-winning songwriters Dave Gunning and J.P. Cormier are two of the most respected musicians on the Canadian folk music scene. And when they get together on stage, hang on to your seats because you’re in for a ride. Their stunning musicianship, heartfelt songwriting, and quick sense of humour reinforce the bond these two share. Whether they’re collaborating on new songs or rearranging old folk standards, singing harmonies or covering instrumental breaks, Gunning & Cormier will leave you in awe of their ability to find the spaces in what the other is doing and make it even better. Dave and J.P have released two albums as a duo, their ECMA-winning debut, Two (2018), and 2023’s Leather and Dust. With Gunning & Cormier you get more than the sum of the parts. There’s something that happens when these two get together that seems to amplify each other’s formidable talent.
