Celtic Touch Dancers

Cape Breton

The Celtic Touch Dancers are a Scottish traditional dance group from Cape Breton Island. They perform Highland and Step dance choreographies created by their director and choreographer, Sabra MacGillivray. The dances are intertwined with traditional and modern steps in the Highland dancing and Step dancing traditions. MacGillivray created the group in 2000, and members of the group over the years have performed both locally and internationally. They’ve performed at the Celtic Colours International Festival, the Halifax Waterfront Summer Series, and the Scottish Broad Cove Concert. Internationally, the Celtic Touch Dancers performed at Walt Disney World on two occasions, as well as the Pitlochry Concert Under the Stars and at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow, both in Scotland. The dance group is also an award-winning group capturing many awards in their local region but also at the national level. They placed first at Scotdance Canada Championship Series in large group choreography.
