Billie Yvette Rogers is a songwriter, dancer, poet, and advocate for community development. Having traveled almost every corner of Cape Breton Island, her deep love for Unama’ki has been a guiding force, and she finds great inspiration in the landscapes and people who shape life here. Her songs weave thoughtful lyrics with folksy guitar melodies, some mournful and touching, others witty and clever. She has performed across the Maritimes over the last twenty years, and has been described by other artists as a hidden gem favourite writer.
