Calum MacPhee hails from Big Pond. Growing up in a musical family, he started playing guitar as a kid watching his father, Malcolm MacPhee, play guitar and sing with popular folk group The Sons of Skye. Calum has played on stages and pubs across Canada and accompanied musicians like John Allan Cameron at the Windsor Folk Fest and the Fergus Highland Games, and his uncle Cyril MacPhee at Celtic Colours in years past. In the mid-1990s, he played in a few Celtic bands based in Detroit, Michigan with brothers named MacNeil whose grandfather was from the Glengarry area of Cape Breton. Calum’s love and passion for music lives deep within his soul and is his escape from his “day job” as a Leadership Consultant. When Calum is not playing music, you will find him playing host to kitchen parties.
