Daniel Rubinoff

Ontario

Daniel Rubinoff is a dynamic Canadian artist whose creative work spans performance, composition, education, and community-based music innovation. As a concert saxophonist, he has appeared across Canada, the U.S., and France, earning acclaim for recordings such as “The Old Castle”, “The Canada Song”, and “Daniel Rubinoff Plays Srul Glick”. His work has been featured on CBC Radio and praised in the American Record Guide for its expressive depth and clarity. As a choral composer published by New Brunswick-based Renforth Music, Rubinoff brings a lyrical and text-sensitive voice to sacred and concert repertoire. His music is grounded in classical craft and emotional nuance and is performed by choirs seeking accessible yet artistically-rich material. Creative leadership defines his role as Director of Music at Lawrence Park Community Church in Toronto, where he curates inclusive, high-quality music programs. He also holds a PhD in Musicology from York University, with a focus on Dalcroze Eurhythmics—an embodied approach to music education. Rubinoff’s love of Alistair MacLeod and Cape Breton compelled him to create “A Cape Breton Christmas”, a show that was performed in December 2024 with guest actor RH Thomson in Toronto. He is extremely grateful to bring this show to its land of origin as part of Celtic Colours 2025.
