Bette MacDonald & Maynard Morrison

Bette MacDonald is a Gemini Award winning actor, a Nova Scotia Screen Award winner and a multiple Canadian Screen Award nominee. For eight seasons, she played school secretary Trudy Walsh on the hit CBC television series Mr. D. Her stage credits include national tours with The Cape Breton Summertime Revue, Island Girls, and ‘Tis The Season.    Bette is currently writing for the music and sketch comedy show Christmas In Cape Breton which she will be appearing in along with her husband Maynard Morrison, and Wendy MacIsaac, Mac Morin and Jordan Musycsyn. Maynard Morrison is co-founder of The Rise and Follies of Cape Breton Island and The Cape Breton Summertime Revue. He has toured the country with the Revue and as a member of The Fabulous Doorknobs. For ten years Maynard was a favourite at the Halifax Comedy Fest, often hosting the festival’s gala show.  He has appeared on radio, television, and stages across Canada and has toured with Christmas shows for the past twenty years. Bette and Maynard are thrilled to be hosting tonight’s show because, as they put it, “We get to introduce acts that we have been fans of for years!”
