Bette MacDonald is a Gemini Award winner, a Screen Nova Scotia award winner and a multiple Canadian Screen Award nominee. She has starred in two CBC television series and has been a guest on many including This Hour Has 22 Minutes and Made In Canada. She was guest host of CBC radio’s Madly Off In All Directions, hosted the East Coast Music Awards telecast and was a long-time favourite headliner at the Halifax Comedy Festival. Bette stars in and is co-writer, along with her brother Ed Macdonald, of Tis The Season, a yearly holiday-themed show that began as a one-night stand twelve years ago and has since toured Nova Scotia and beyond, playing to packed houses and rave reviews. For the past eight years, Bette has played outspoken school secretary, Trudy Walsh, on the CBC hit comedy, Mr. D. Maynard Morrison is an actor, director and singer. He is a founding member of The Rise and Follies Of Cape Breton Island and the Cape Breton Summertime Revue and was part of the very popular Fabulous Doorknobs. For ten years, Maynard was a favourite performer and MC of the Halifax Comedy Festival. He has appeared on radio, television and stages from Glace Bay to Vancouver. Recently, he played Darius Lyons on CBC’s Mr. D. For the past twelve years, Maynard and his wife, Bette, have toured with their hit comedy, Tis The Season. Most recently, Maynard directed and appeared in the latest instalment of The Cape Breton Summertime Revue. In December, Maynard, Bette and company will be on the road again with a brand-new version of Tis The Season.
