Max Francis

Max Francis is a 15-year-old composer and multi-instrumentalist from Victoria, British Columbia. He is a 2026 Canadian Folk Music Award winner, the 2025 Canadian Grand Masters fiddling champion, U.S. National Junior fiddling champion, and a three-time BC fiddling champion. Max is also an accomplished classical violinist and has performed as a soloist with the Victoria Symphony. His classical compositions have been awarded the highest honours at Canada’s National Music Festival. In 2024, Max released his debut album, Home, featuring all original tunes for fiddle. In addition to composing and arranging all the tunes on the album, Max also played all the instruments and produced the album himself. Max also plays guitar, mandolin, banjo, piano, and bodhran, and is a sought-after accompanist and session musician. Max will be performing with Daniel Lapp and Tia Greenwood in his Celtic Colours debut this year.
