Sam Moon

Maritime singer-songwriter Sam Moon first came out of Cape Breton Island alongside Matt Minglewood in the band Moon Minglewood & the Universal Power. After touring across North America in the 1970’s, Sam recorded his long-awaited debut album, New Moon, in 1982, followed in 2011 by popular release, Never Let Me Go. He has contributed songs to many artists’ recordings throughout the years and in live stage productions like the Tarbot Music Festival, various East Coast Music Awards, the Cape Breton Summertime Revue, and Stone & Sand & Sea & Sky Coastal Arts Festival. Along the way, Sam has shared the stage with many artists past and present including The Band, Delbert McClinton, The Guess Who, Steppenwolf, The Beach Boys, and April Wine. Sam continues to perform in bands and duo format with Dave MacKeigan, playing acoustic music with original songs like the folk classic, “The Girls of Neils Harbour”.
