Hannah Krebs

Hannah Krebs was born and raised in rural Ontario and began learning Gaelic when she moved to Nova Scotia to attend St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish. Since then, she has become involved in the province’s Gaelic community, gaining a deep appreciation for the richness of the language and culture, and becoming a fluent Gaelic speaker herself. Hannah also has an avid interest in Cape Breton music and dance and loves a good céilidh. She has resided in Christmas Island for the better part of the past decade, working Baile nan Gàidheal [Highland Village Museum] for a number of years, and more recently as a Gaelic language instructor at Beinn Mhàbu, teaching Gàidhlig aig Baile classes to adults in rural Cape Breton communities, and as part of the Cainnt is Ceathramhan [Language and Lyrics] project team.
