Rachel Davis & Darren McMullen & The Gaelic College Ensemble

The Gaelic College Ensemble is a talented group of young musicians brought together by a shared love of Cape Breton’s rich musical traditions and a common connection to Colaisde na Gàidhlig [the Gaelic College] in St. Ann’s. Made up of current and former students, the ensemble showcases the next generation of tradition bearers through fiddle, piano, guitar, Gaelic song, and step dance. Each performer has spent years developing their craft, and this marks the first time they have come together as an ensemble under the direction of acclaimed Cape Breton musicians Rachel Davis and Darren McMullen, both longtime instructors at the College. The result is an energetic and hopeful celebration of the music and talent thriving among the island’s youth.
