Keely Basque is a recent graduate of Riverview High School and has been dancing with Northside Dance and Cape Breton School of the Arts for 16 years. She has performed in and choreographed her schools’ production of Mamma Mia and has performed in Mimikej at the Highland Arts Theatre, Christmas at Sacred Heart (with the Highland Arts Theatre), Samqwan at the Highland Arts Theatre and Neptune Theatre, and performed a land acknowledgement piece for Chester Theatre’s grand opening. Keely was featured at the 2023 Canada Games in the Wearing Our Identity: Celebration of Indigenous Woman and Resilience Fashion Show, competed at the 2024 Dance World Cup in Prague, Czech Republic representing Canada, and was in the music video “Darling Where Are You” with Miles Goodwyn of legendary Canadian band, April Wine.
