Get ready for a night on the town with this all-Cape Breton lineup featuring some of the island’s top singers, songwriters, and instrumentalists. Piper Matt MacIsaac and piano player Mac Morin regularly perform with long-running Cape Breton trad powerhouse Beòlach, but tonight they’ve struck out on their own with Mac accompanying Matt on some tunes. While Matt and Mac stick to the instrumentals, Aaron MacDonald hits the stage with songs so real you can feel them under your skin. Blending dusty rock, folky grit, and country soul, the award-winning songwriter from Mabou tells stories pulled from long roads, hard lessons, and the bright chaos of family life. There’s a taste of small town living in every song. Raw, melodic, and honest, this music is rooted in real life, real places, and the kind of truth you can’t fake. And that’s the kind of authenticity that drives Crowdis Bridge. Lovers and purveyors of roots and traditional music, this ensemble of multi-instrumentalists, singers, and songwriters is steeped in the bluegrass, old-time, folk, Celtic, and country-blues traditions. Mixing and matching original compositions with traditional tunes, Crowdis Bridge crafts a musical landscape as rich and diverse as the island they call home. Anything could happen with this crowd of players and singers, so we’re leaving it to the lads tonight!
