Blanche Sophocleous is a popular singer, guitarist and Master of Ceremonies from Big Pond, Cape Breton, along the shore of the Bras d’Or Lake. She was a member of the popular recording group Sons of Skye who toured Scotland and Canada in the 1970s and ’80s. Their album Both Sides of the Water, originally released on vinyl in 1981, was recently re-released on CD. Blanche has also appeared on various albums as an accompanying guitarist for well-known Cape Breton fiddlers and pianists. An established emcee and entertainer on cruise ships, at concerts, fashion shows and fundraisers, Blanche will be performing with Brenda Stubbert at Celtic Colours this year.
