Heather Cameron
Heather Cameron was brought up surrounded by music in Pictou County, Nova Scotia. The fiddle, guitar, bagpipes, and piano became her constant companions, and early on she developed a beautiful, soulful voice. Heather knew well the power of music to reach people, which led her to study music therapy. This brought her out west where she further developed her musicianship, and professional skills as a creative arts therapist. In the last decade, Heather returned home and, in addition to practicing music therapy, she has established herself as a professional performing and recording artist. Performances around the province often include Kenny Stewart accompanying on guitar. This past year, Heather has collaborated with Cape Breton Island artists Emma Stevens, Nicole and Michelle Deveau, and La Swing du Suete! She will be performing with Emma Stevens and Carter Chiasson during Celtic Colours this year.
