Scotland

Ruairidh Gray is an award-winning Gàidhlig singer hailing from the village of Daliburgh on the Island of South Uist. In October of 2022, he became only the second person to have won both the “Bonn Òr a Chomainn” and the “Bonn Òr an t-Seann Nòs” at the Royal National Mòd which was held in Perth. Later that same year, he was voted “MG ALBA Gaelic Singer of the Year” at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards, celebrating its 20th year in Dundee’s Caird Hall. Ruairidh is currently undertaking post-graduate studies in the Traditional Music course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under the tutelage of Miss Iseabail T. MacDonald, of Daliburgh and Glasgow. In 2024, he graduated with a Bachelors of Music with Honours  (BMus (Hons)) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Ruairidh has performed to a wide variety of audiences across Europe, from the small village halls of the West Coast of Scotland to the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Although the difference in these engagements is staggering and demanding, each performance is delivered with the same high-powered, captivating, and highly personal energy which Ruairidh has become known for.
