Teresa Horgan & Donogh Hennessey

Ireland

Teresa Horgan is widely regarded as one of Ireland’s finest folk and traditional singers. With a voice that effortlessly carries the depth, fragility, and fire of a centuries-old tradition, she has spent more than 15 years touring the world, captivating audiences with her emotive delivery and timeless repertoire. Joining Teresa is the celebrated guitarist and producer Donogh Hennessy—co-founder of the legendary group Lúnasa, and longtime collaborator with icons such as Sharon Shannon, Lumiere, and Seamus Begley. With his intricate and expressive playing, Hennessy has long been a central figure in shaping the sound of contemporary Irish music. Based in the vibrant and scenic town of Dingle, on Ireland’s wild Atlantic coast, Teresa and Donogh have been performing together for the past 13 years. This shared home continues to inspire their work—its rugged beauty and rich musical heritage echo through every note and phrase they deliver. Their latest collaboration saw Donogh lend his talents as guitarist and co-producer on Teresa’s newly released solo album Amethyst, a project that showcases the depth of their musical partnership. On stage, Horgan’s haunting vocals and Hennessy’s masterful guitar playing blend to stunning effect, breathing life into songs of heartbreak, love, revenge, violence, and longing—the very soul of folk music.
